Commissions

Status: Closed

I am currently not available to take commissions as I am focusing full-time on my schooling.

Thank you for understanding!

Pricing

Amigurumi pricing varies depending on a number of factors:

  • size of the object
  • complexity of the object
  • custom coloring
  • deadline

My general pricing equation is cost + labor = price. Cost of materials is calculated based on the yarn used (yardage calculated by weight) and whatever accessories (eyes, rattles, wiring, etc) are needed. Labor is added based on how many separate parts need sewing on, whether the item has colorwork (color changes within the same row of crochet, such as a “tuxedo” face on a cat), and any extra hours spent in “post crochet” crafting. This may increase based on factors such as yarn hair/styling, embroidery of faces or any special pieces, and generally any fussy little details that need to be just right. If this process needs to be “rushed,” e.g. you need a super fancy custom doll in two weeks or less, the labor charge will also increase.

Process

When I am open for commissions, this is how my commission/requests process currently works:

  1. You check to make sure I am open for commissions (status at the top of this page).
  2. You browse examples in the gallery or blog, then fill out the Commissions form below.
  3. I take a look at your request, my current workload, and my free time, then reply with a price estimate and estimated completion date.
  4. You must confirm that you are interested in the order as stated.
  5. I add you to my queue, and you wait for your item to be completed. Note: In most cases, you don’t need to pay until your order is complete; however, I will ask for a 50% deposit if the order is heavily customized or over $50 in total.
  6. When your order is ready, I will send you an update with photos of your completed toy(s) to be sure they meet your expectations. At this point I will also send an invoice requesting payment in full via Paypal.
  7. Once you have paid and I have your shipping address, I will send out your order!
  8. You receive your custom order and jump for joy!
